After our Mother was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer we scrambled to find a life insurance policy for her, the terms of the policy included a pay out after a two year survival period. Our mother succumbed to her disease one year and five months into the policy, we received only the money we paid in and were left to come up with over $10,000 in funeral expense, after meeting with several funeral homes we finally started asking for itemized cost for expenses, we found out that the caskets the funeral homes offered were almost half the costs of the total burial costs. As young adults we were totally unprepared and had to come up with a solution that would be cost effective and most importantly give our mother a home going service that emulated her loving caring spirit. After many conversations and interactions with loved ones who were in similar situations we wanted to pass on the cost savings of ordering on line caskets.
